Fountain grass (Pennisetum setaceum), a bunch grass native to Africa, is one of the most common invasive species in Glendale, La Crescenta and in nearby communities. Local municipal and county public works agencies face a lot more work to get rid of it in tree wells and parkways and it creeps quickly into our open spaces, out competing our native plants.
On the Agenda: Central Park Block Improvements Project bids; Zone ZERO Update
This act would add more than 191,000 acres to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. GEC thanks Congressman Schiff for his determination to preserve and protect open space in Southern California for future generations!
This means that California can contribute to the global discussion about protecting nature, which has important implications for human health as well as the planet. GEC is proud to support this effort.
