Re Item 8c: Final Decision on Grayson Gas Engines. THIS IS IT.
Since 2016, GEC has been asking for a better plan to repower Grayson with clean energy resources. We’ve pushed for in front of and behind the meter distributed solar and storage, from city-owned to commercial to residential. We’ve asked for more energy efficiency, more demand response. We’ve asked for resources to be prioritized for these clean projects, large amounts of which could be up and running before new gas engines. We rallied, called in, emailed, and spoke out to Stop Gas at Grayson Again, and on March 1 City Council delayed the Grayson gas engines decision to the end of this year. On Tuesday, December 13, 2022 the proposal will come back to City Council. This is our final chance to say that we want clean energy first!
Please join other GEC members at City Hall this Tuesday to show the city, with your presence or with a short comment, that we want clean energy investments, not gas-burning engines!
If you are unable to attend, please call in! If you can not call in, please email ahead.
