GEC Requests support of an item on this week’s agenda:
Action Item 8A: Management Services, re: Polystyrene and Single-Use Plastic Ban. This is a Motion providing direction to staff to prepare an ordinance prohibiting the use of polystyrene and single-use plastic products in all City facilities, City-managed concessions, City-sponsored events, and City-permitted events that serve prepared food.
GEC submitted a comment letter urging Metro to move forward with Glendale’s street alignment, and Eagle Rock’s Beautiful Boulevard proposal.
GEC congratulates Glendale’s State Assemblymember, Laura Friedman (43rd District), on her appointment as Chair of the State Assembly Transportation Committee by Speaker Anthony Rendon.
The City of Glendale has announced the opening of the application period for the newly established Sustainability Commission. GEC advocated for this commission and is thrilled to see it coming to fruition! The application deadline is 12/31/2020

Glendale has joined the Transportation Electrification Partnership as part of the Advisory Group. The city will work with over 30 other members to achieve an additional 25 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution by the time Los Angeles welcomes the 2028 Olympics.
