City Council approves motion requesting staff to prepare an ordinance prohibiting use of Polystyrene and Single Use Plastics at City Facilities and City Events and council members make first two nominations to Sustainability Commission.
GEC’s comment letter was quoted extensively at council. Council voted unanimously to move forward with drafting an ordinance.
This means that California can contribute to the global discussion about protecting nature, which has important implications for human health as well as the planet. GEC is proud to support this effort.

Action Item 8A: Management Services, re: Polystyrene and Single-Use Plastic Ban. This is a Motion providing direction to staff to prepare an ordinance prohibiting the use of polystyrene and single-use plastic products in all City facilities, City-managed concessions, City-sponsored events, and City-permitted events that serve prepared food.
GEC submitted a comment letter urging Metro to move forward with Glendale’s street alignment, and Eagle Rock’s Beautiful Boulevard proposal.

The City of Glendale has announced the opening of the application period for the newly established Sustainability Commission. GEC advocated for this commission and is thrilled to see it coming to fruition! The application deadline is 12/31/2020
