Glendale City Council votes unanimously to move forward with an ordinance change to allowing backyard beekeeping in residential zones, Councilmember Najarian introduces the Metro Micro service and Councilmember Brotman requests an implementation plan for the transition of all of Glendale’s parks and properties from gas to electric landscaping equipment, now that funding has been allocated, as well as a plan to expand this policy city-wide.

The Glendale Environmental Coalition is pleased to partner with the Sierra Club, Verdugo Hills Chapter, to bring you a free four-part educational series to help our community find environmentally-sound solutions for different aspects of both yard care and managing resources. Topics will include composting and organic waste management, strategizing your landscaping choices to resist wildfire, utilizing grey water systems to water your yard, and techniques for eco-friendly landscaping and yard maintenance.
These projects will benefit the entire Glendale Community and leave the City of Glendale in a better position to both mitigate the effects of climate change and reduce our impacts.
